Tasha Ball
The first sport Tasha tried was gymnastics, but after seven years she got burned out and turned her attention to springboard diving. After mastering that, she wanted to try something different. Knowing that the skills she learned in gymnastics and diving would be a good fit for cheerleading, she tried out for the Mira Mesa cheerleading team during sophomore year of high school and made it!
After graduating from high school, Tasha was selected to be a UCA staffer and is now entering into her 5th year as a UCA instructor.
Tasha is a firm believer in summer camps. She feels, “Cheerleading camp is a great confidence booster for all team members at any level. Team members can bond at cheer camp and start their year off on a positive note, while learning proper stunt technique and good values as a high school cheerleader.”
Once the camp is over, Tasha hopes, “the thing cheerleaders should take away from camp is pride. Whether that is pride in their team, in their school, in themselves, or their improved skills, I think that a sense of pride developed at cheerleading camp is something that will prove to be instrumental to every cheer team throughout their year.”
There are many parts of camp that Tasha enjoys, but her favorite part is private coaching. If a squad is struggling in a certain area, private coaching gives the instructor chance to work one on one with the squads. It also gives the squad a customized routine they can take home and use at a football or basket ball game.
